In 1937, Marie Bayot and Armand Croonenberghs founded a marble sawmill in Rhisnes, in the Namur region. Five generations later, the family business has grown into — in their own words — the last natural stone wholesaler in the wider region. Over the past fifteen years, however, composite surfaces have also become an important part of their range. Current managing director Bruno Croonenberghs explains the strength behind this successful collaboration.
The combination of tradition, passion for the product, technical expertise and a strong network has made Cromarbo, nearly 90 years later, a trusted reference among stone processors, kitchen designers, architects and private customers looking for high-quality interior solutions.
Although Cromarbo mainly focuses on natural stone, Diresco appeared on their radar around fifteen years ago. Their introduction to our mineral composite quickly evolved into a promising collaboration and eventually into a long-term partnership.
“Diresco’s major investments in R&D have paid off”
Managing director Bruno Croonenberghs sees mineral composite as a logical addition to their assortment. “Composite offers undeniable advantages. We recommend it to our customers because it is non-porous and therefore extremely easy to maintain. That’s a major added value for anyone who wants to enjoy their composite product worry-free for many years.”
“Moreover, the material has also made enormous progress in terms of look & feel. This is the result of the major investments Diresco recently made in its R&D department. The Sublime range is perhaps the best example of this. We are seeing increasingly realistic designs and experiencing more pleasant textures.”
“The end customer, who regularly craves innovation, is therefore fully catered to. That is also one of the main reasons why Diresco continues to enjoy our preference across both the Belgian and international markets.”
Belgium first
“Finally, we also find it very important to work with a reliable partner close to home. Like us, Diresco is a company deeply rooted in Belgium and built on family values. That makes communication between us very easy and pleasant. We therefore look forward with great confidence to the coming years of this partnership.”
